Let's say...
Your DreamTour involves cycling across Mongolia. Along the way you’ll stay in a yurt, relax throbbing muscles in hot springs, photograph the vast steppes and experience a famous Nadam Fair. You can ride a bike - but what about a yak?
What if you could do all this - and more - for free?
How?
You simply need enough willing participants to join your DreamTour.
No hidden catches, no funny business.
Can you give me an example?
Of course. Let’s use the example of the Mongolian DreamTour, above.
A fully supported trip is more expensive. Generally, this would increase your minimum number.
However, our example Mongolian trip has limited accommodation costs - you’ll be camping. This reduces the overall cost.
Such a reduction will also help the minimum group number to decrease.
So you have decided Mongolian DreamTour is 30 days, fully supported, mostly camping, and you have priced it in the range of 2501€ - 5000€.
We at Tour d’Afrique review the criteria, approve it, and then make some very sophisticated calculations to determine your minimum and optimum numbers. These are based, in large part, on the criteria just mentioned.

We do. While certain locations preclude certain group sizes, various criteria including trip logistics, length, difficulty, level of support and accommodation type are considered.

How?
You simply need enough willing participants to join your DreamTour.
- After creating your DreamTour on our site, you’ll take it to the masses - marketing your idea to the world.
- You’ll need sufficient people to show interest in joining you, then registration opens.
- Once the minimum number is reached, we fine-tune your DreamTour price.
- Those truly interested sign up and pay a 25% fully refundable deposit towards the tour’s price.
- If your tour’s minimum number of participants subscribe and pay: you pay just 50% of the cost.
- If your tour’s optimum number of participants subscribe and pay: you go for free.

- We, at Tour d’Afrique, choose 15 as your tour’s minimum number of participants.
- If 15 people sign up, then we see that it’s time to take this seriously.
- We estimate more specifically what the DreamTours price will be (let’s make it 2900€ for this example) and ask the 15 who signed up to pay the 25% deposit (725€, fully refundable).
- When full payment time comes, you pay just 50% of your DreamTour’s price – that’s 1450€ to ride for 30 days in Mongolia!
- 20 is the optimum number of participants.
- If all 20 people pay, then you ride for free, having reached your optimum number for this tour.
