Count me in

I always wanted to do this trip. It is not easy, but it will take you through one of the most beautiful parts of Africa, not to mention Southern Africa. The tour could start near the second largest canyon in the world - the Fish River Canyon in the southern parts of Namibia. From there it should go through the amazing Namib Desert, the Naukluft National Park, along the Skeleton Coast and then turning east through central Namibia making for the massive Okavango Delta in the northern parts of Botswana. From there one should go due south through the Central Kalahari Game Reserve with its indescribable wildlife in the south of Botswana and the north of South Africa, and then further south through the Kgalakgadi Flats, the famous Namakwaland with its splendid wildflower abundance in early-spring and down to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I speak some Afrikaans, I've trekked the region by overland truck, I have survived a desert elephant attack in the Namib, I swam the first 15 Zambesi rapids (couldn't stay in the b*y raft), I could bring a few fellow bikers along, and I'm a very slow biker in case you need such a biking mate (can be handy in case of predators) :-) Contact me if this dream tour becomes reality.

Amazing route. I have done most of this route in a 4x4 back in the 70s - and got stuck more than a few times in the sand in the Kalahari. Be prepared for hot/dry/sandy- but definitely interesting. I could be tempted to join this one, would also be slow.
